Badger Starlight was unshown due to an injury but he is a full brother to Gray’s Starlight, Gallo Dell Cielo (Rooster) and Paddy’s Irish Whiskey. Starlight Too’s dam is TAMU Cantina Jolena who is a daughter of Nu Bar by Doc Bar. TAMU Cantina Jolina is out of TAMU Docs Jolena by Doc’s Flying Bar by Doc Bar. She is out of TAMU Joe Maid who was a daughter of Fourble Joe by King P-234.
It is common knowledge that the magic cross for Doc Bar was the Poco Tivio mares. Starlight Too has two of the greatest Poco Tivio daughters in his pedigree. Doc’s Starlight (NCHA Hall of Fame, NCHA Top Ten, Two-time NCHA Reserve World Champion) was by Doc Bar out of Tasa Tivio. Tasa Tivio was one of the Jensen’s, who owned Doc Bar, favorite mares. She was out of Chowchilla Pee Wee and by Poco Tivio. Doc’s Starlight produced 4 full brothers by Peppy San Badger, Badger Starlight, Grays Starlight, Gallo Del Cielo (Rooster) and Paddy’s Irish Whiskey. Teresa Tivio was another daughter of Poco Tivio daughter in Starlight Too’s pedigree. She was out of Saylor’s Little Sue. The Jensen’s in California also owned her. She produced ten foals including Nu Bar, Boon Bar, Doc’s Haida, Doc’s Remedy and Fizzbar (NCHA Hall of Fame). Without this mare the Quarter Horse industry would never have had Peptoboonsmal, Haidas Little Pep or Duel Pep. Nu Bar was one of the best sons of Doc Bar. Leon Harrell said he was the best stallion he ever rode. Late in his life he was donated to Texas A & M University and they have built their program around the great Nu Bar daughters they have raised. Starlight Too’s dam was a product of Texas A & M’s program which is evident in her name TAMU (Texas A&M University) Cantina Jolena. Click here to Download Starlight Too's Complete Pedigree
